Christmas Party

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is the Rotary Christmas party at Ferndale Lake. As a newcomer to Pittsburg, I'd heard of Ferndale but had no idea how to get there. Consulting a Camp County map I had a general idea how to get there, but since the party is in the evening - when it'll already be dark, I though it'd be good to go out in the daylight with an experienced Ferndale person. So today Gray McWhorter gave me the tour.

Here's the general idea of how to get there: Go out of Pittsburg on FM 556. Turn right on FM 1519. You'll go several miles until you read CR 3322 on the left (the culvert work is going on in that area right now). When you turn there you'll see an open area right off 1519 where there will be a white sign for Macedonia Church of Christ. As you proceed down this road, you'll cross a bridge. Right after the bridge, look for the Ferndale entrance on the right. Though usually closed, Gray said it will be open tomorrow night.

This is a picture of the lodge, taken from the direction of the lake. When you drive in you'll be on the other side - which, conveniently, happens to be where the parking will be. See you there.
